Hattie Clare Clifton

Hattie Clare Clifton, “Aunt Hattie”, 92, was called to her eternal home on Friday, November 15, 2019.

Aunt Hattie was preceded in death by her parents Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Clifton, brothers, Robert Clifton, Ellis Clifton, James Clifton, Henry Clifton and her sisters: Edna Ransom, Helen Dyess, Ethel Rodgers and Nancy Calhoun. She is survived by her brother, Levis Clifton, Sr. and sister, Florence Ferguson, Grady, Alabama as well as 41 nieces and nephews, 62 great nieces and nephews and 59 great, great nieces and nephews as well as numerous cousins.

She was a beautiful, precious, rare soul who generously showered unconditional love upon her family and friends by always putting the needs of others above herself. Although she never married, she reared more children than most mothers do in a lifetime. Everyone should look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others. -Philippians 2:4. Yes, the unconditional love that our amazing, sweet Aunt Hattie taught us all was not only with her words but genuinely through her actions. …But the greatest of these is love. -I Corinthians 13:13

Aunt Hattie not only ministered to her family and friends; she also was a faithful member at Pine Level Baptist Church for many years. She loved her church family and she faithfully served the LORD with them through various ministries such as Sunday school teacher, vacation Bible school teacher/worker, WMU member, or wherever she was called upon to serve.

Yes, we do and will miss our precious, Aunt Hattie but we are thankful for that eternal hope and looking now more than yesterday of that great reunion day. Precious memories may they flood our souls. …Do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. -I Thessalonians 4:13

Serving as pallbearers will be Trae Hendrix, Nate Hendrix, Blake Padget, Ronny Little, Levis Clifton, Jr., Marty Clifton and Gary Clifton.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 12:00 p.m. at Pine Level Baptist Church with Chaplain Ronald Beckham officiating.
