Herbert Owen Smith, III was born to Herbert Jr. and Natalie Smith on March 29, 2000 in Montgomery Alabama.
Herbert put on Christ as his Savior and was baptized January 2013 at New Harvest Church of Christ. He was an active member of New Harvest Church of Christ Youth Department where he served until his health failed.
He received his education in the Montgomery Public School System; where he attended Garrett, Martin Luther King, Carver Magnet Elem, Floyd Middle Magnet and Park Crossing High School. He graduated May 19, 2018. He was a member of the Park Crossing football team where he played defensive tackle. Those who knew him; know he had a great love for the Alabama Crimson Tide. During his illness he was granted a wish by Magic Moments that afforded him the opportunity to be a guest of Nick Saban’s for the weekend, where he received royal treatment. His future plans after graduation was to attend the University of South Alabama and then transfer to The University of Alabama in hopes to play for Nick Saban, but God had other plans.
After a brief illness on Tuesday evening, November 20, 2018 God dispatched an Angel and said, “Servant of God, Well Done.”
Left to cherish his memories are his loving and devoted Parents Herbert Jr. and Natalie Smith. His loving Twin sister, Kenedee Smith; Grandfather, Herbert O. Smith, Sr; Grandmother, Rosa W. Prince; Aunts and Uncles; Sherri (Tray) Hill, Kevin Smith, Derrick (Sandra) Smith, Eldon Prince, D’intre (Kimberly) Smith, Harold (Algerine) Prince, Taurance (Stephanie)Wilson. Great Aunt and Uncles, Ronald (Annette) Wilson, Bennie L. (Laura J.) Smith, Freeman (Miriam) Wilson, David (Shirley) Wilson, Ralph (Oneitha) Wilson, Raymond (Marie) Wilson, Linda Faye Austin, Rubin (Barbara) Willis, Charlotte (Donald) Wallace, Jennie Newton, Dorothy Sampson, Lizzie (George) Simmons, Nellie (Enoch) Gordon. A Bonus Grandmother Fermer Prince; Devoted Cousins, Sarah Beecham and Wanda Mack; a host of other relatives and friends including Jale Howard and family.
Those relatives that preceded him in death included but are not limited to his Paternal Grandmother Loneta Wilson Smith, Paternal Great Grandmother Violet McClendon Smith, Maternal Great Grandmother Minervia Hunter Calhoun and his Maternal Grandfather Homer Dean Prince (Calhoun).
