On Thursday, April 4, 2024 John Wayne Cronier went to be with his Lord at his home surrounded by family. John was preceded in death by his beloved son, James Feagan (Bull) Cronier (Christy); his father, John Wayne Cronier Sr., His mother, Henrietta McElroy Cronier, and his maternal grandmother, Betty Belle McElroy (Mama); and his mother in law Betty Yougene Johnson. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Betty Johnson Cronier; his daughter, Celia Cronier Potter (Brian); and his son, John Hunter Cronier (Joan). His six grandchildren, Hunter Mckee Cronier, Dr. Kathrine Potter Vess, William Joseph Potter , Jackson, Reid Cronier, James, Tapley, Cronier, and Charley Johnston Cronier; and his daughter-in-law, Christy Cluck Cronier; and a plethora of cousins and friends.
John graduated from Sydney Lanier high school in 1964 and attended Huntington college. He began his career in banking at Peoples Bank of Montgomery and Retired in 1997 from Citibank of New York. He continued his second career in trucking as owner of his own company JCron LLC. He retired March 2023. John was an active member of Grace Pointe Church of Christ and an avid member of his men’s Bible class. John was an avid golfer and a member of Arrowhead golf and country club for over 50 years. A celebration of life will be held at Grace Pointe Church of Christ, Ray Thorington Rd., Montgomery, AL with Scotty Harris officiating. A visitation will be at 10 o’clock and a service following at 11 o’clock.
