Martha Marie Bailey

Martha Marie Bailey, a beloved wife, mother, sister and grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2024. She was 72 years old.  Martha was born in Cleveland, Alabama on September 7, 1951 to Zudy and Dewey George.

She married James Donald Bailey, Jr., on April 15, 1983 and they had a very loving marriage which she cherished dearly. Martha a/k/a “Mar” was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family above all. She was always there for her son, family and friends offering love, support, and guidance. She was also a loving grandmother to her two grandchildren, Skyler Nichole Norrell and Emily Marie Norrell, who she loved spending time with. She loved cooking for her family and friends, feeding and watching her beautiful hummingbirds and the wildlife who visited their home often. She loved working on boats with her husband Don and in their spare time, out fishing him. She enjoyed being surrounded by her family and friends which adored her and her them. Martha will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She was a kind, loving, and compassionate woman who touched the lives of everyone she knew or anyone who had the pleasure of meeting her.

Martha is survived by her husband, James Donald Bailey, Jr., her son, Dustin Michael “Melanie” Norrell, her grandchildren Skyler Nichole Norrell and Emily Marie Norrell, her siblings, Earl George, Milton George and Nell Beasley and a number of nieces and nephews.
